Powered By Apache
I know it seems strange for someone who’s pursuing an MCSE to jump ship from IIS and load Apache webserver, but hey, I’m realistic. I’m tired of loading service pack after service pack just to keep the latest worm or exploit at bay. And I’m really tired of patching files to make them run under IIS when they run under everything else just fine. So, there you go, sorry Bill. Server Upgraded
The Fat of the LAN web server was upgraded from a Pentium II 400 with 294 MB’s of RAM, to a 2 Gigahertz Celeron with 512 MB’s of RAM. The new system rejected my RAID card like a new kidney so it’s now handled by the OS. It also got a OS upgrade and all of the latest security patches. Overall, it’s a lot quicker.
